Future Empire
Spring Summer 2011–12
Future Empire is an exploration of the art, aesthetics and ideas and that converged together on the streets of 1920s Paris. Man Ray and his muse Lee Miller, bold African tribal imagery, Dada sculpture and the Surrealist movement — all of these elements informed and inspired this collection.
Cameo profiles are juxtaposed with mechanical and geometric forms. Repetition and triangular motifs alludes to tribal pattern work and carvings. Against this framework, natural stone and crystalline gems reflect exploration of new materials and ideas. Each piece is hand crafted in our Sydney studio.
